Each January 1, many of us make resolutions. The top three resolutions among artists? Probably eat right, exercise, and create art every day. My art quilt is an interpretation of “eating right.” Set against a sky-blue background with subtle snowflakes is an array of salad ingredients, plus two melba toast slices.
Size: 12 x 12 inches
Methods: machine quilting, beading, painting, stamping, stenciling.
Materials: hand-dyed, batik, and commercial cotton fabrics; felt; Ultrasuede; Shiva Artist’s Paintstiks, oil pastels, colored pencils, Fabrico markers, Sharpie markers, pigment stamp pads, fabric paint; fusible heavyweight interfacing, non-fusible medium-weight interfacing; glass beads; fabric glue; cotton, polyester, and beading thread.
